New PSU Study Spotlights How Informed Tenants Stay Housed

During the COVID-emergency, Community Alliance of Tenants sounded the alarm about the wave of evictions our state would face without bold action to keep folks housed. While hard-fought protections were secured during that time, including historic investments in rental assistance a new study from Portland State University is shining a light on the traumatic impacts of potential evictions as Oregon returns to pre-pandemic eviction levels.

Our Executive Director Kim McCarty was recently interviewed by Axios to discuss the reports’ findings. You can read that interview HERE.

This report is another powerful reminder that when tenants are empowered and know their rights, they stay housed. That’s why our Renters’ Rights Hotline is a critical tool that continues to be a vital tool for people across the state today; give us a call anytime at 503-288-0130 and one of our Tenant Education Specialists will followup with you soon.
